First of all – WHAT A WIN? Congratulations to our Fiji Team for scooping the London 7s, Paris 7s and the series.
Most importantly, thank you for joining the community at the London 7s and being the Fiji team’s 8th Man. Captain, Paula Dranisinukula on behalf the team, coach and management, requested to convey to the community that they were all very grateful to all who came out in masses to support them at the London 7s. The singing and cheering surely motivated them.
The London 7s 8th Man organised seats for a total of 1,360 for both Saturday and Sunday. A total of £28,840.00 of your monies was paid to the England Rugby Union. All tickets were sold at face value with no financial gain to the 8th Man admin team.
We had reported on the fundraiser earlier with a total of £920.00 donated by 27 members of the community on Just Giving. Just Giving charged a processing fee of £33.33 based on 2.9% + 25p per donation. We saved and withdrew £886.67. After this, we made a last push plea to members and a total of £495.00 came forward in two nights. We also raffled an All Blacks 15s signed jersey which raised a total of £260.00. £100.00 was submitted late which we will hold until next year for the next round of fundraising. The jersey was won last night by first time 8th Man, Mr Rob Euman – congratulations! What we managed to gather, a total of £1541.567, the team shared this equally of £110.00 each. Thank you to all who kindly donated and helped raised monies to reward the team with.
